Justice Chari Kelly is the Democratic nominee for the Texas Supreme Court, Place 2, in the November 2026 general election.

A U.S. Army veteran and sitting appellate judge, Justice Kelly brings more than 20 years of legal experience and has authored more than 800 appellate opinions.

In the State Bar Judicial Poll, she received more votes than any candidate in any of the ten statewide judicial races.

Justice Kelly is known for upholding the law without fear or favor, including a ruling that Attorney General Ken Paxton was not above the law. She will bring independence and a new voice to a court that too often serves as a rubber stamp for the executive branch.
